IMAGES of what is reportedly the new Scotland football shirt have been leaked ahead of its official launch later this week.

Predominantly navy blue, the shirt has a red v-shaped collar, the iconic Adidas stripes on the shoulders and tartan cuffs on the sleeves.

It also reportedly has a spider-web detailing on the back to represent the legend of Robert the Bruce and the spider in the cave on Rathlin Island that encouraged him to keep trying.

The shirt also features the new Scotland crest, which sees the current badge replaced with an all-gold version.

Scotland haven’t featured tartan on their kits since Euro ‘96, during which the national team wore all-tartan kits with yellow, navy and purple trim. Recent kits have seen designs incorporated into the shirt, such as the Saltire imprint on the current kit.

People took to Twitter to comment on the new design, with some saying it was ‘ugly’ whilst others welcomed the return of tartan detail on the shirt.
