WOLVES striker Leigh Griffiths has said he would “definitely consider” a move to Celtic as he addressed rumours of a move away from Molineux.

The former Hibernian forward has become unhappy at the Championship side in recent weeks after being dropped to the bench in the last few games, despite being the club’s top scorer with 13 goals.

Wolves manager Kenny Jackett has done little to boost Griffiths’ confidence, having recently signed striker Nouha Dicko in the January window. Rumours of interest in Coventry forward Leon Clarke have cast further doubt in the Scotland cap’s mind.

Addressing speculation linking him to Parkhead, Griffiths said: “I have heard the rumours. Celtic are a massive club and it would be an honour to go and play for them. They are playing in the Champions League every season and have a tremendous squad.

“But it is speculation and the man you need to ask is Neil Lennon if the rumours are true. But if Celtic came in with a bid for me then it is definitely something I would consider.

“Until, or if that time comes, then I have to keep focused and stay in the Wolves team.

“But I am thinking about my future. This transfer window has opened my eyes a bit. The last option would be to go back on loan somewhere. I want my future to be more certain.
“Nothing is impossible. It is hard because the manager has said he does not want to sell me. But he said if the right bid came in then he would not stop me going.”

He added: “If I am back on the bench for the next few games then it is something I will need to speak to the manager about.”
