Spartans moved to the summit of the Lowland League after a comfortable 3-0 victory over Gretna 2008 at Raydale Park.
Fresh from last weekend’s Scottish Cup triumph over city rivals Edinburgh University, the Ainslie Park side were 2-0 up at the interval courtesy of Mark Whatley and John Grant – both finishing off moves with two clinical headers.
The hosts struggled to cope with their opponents and Spartans wrapped things up in the second half with Kevin Motion curling in a superb free-kick to make it three.
