Charles Green ‘must go’

Fans groups have called for the sacking of Charles Green by the Rangers board.

Green quit as chief executive in April amid allegations of links with ex-owner Craig Whyte and anger over racist comments, but returned as a consultant last month. (Scotsman)

Celtic ‘can beat Shakhter’

Neil Lennon says Celtic don’t need any new faces to help beat Shakhter Karagandy in tonight’s Champions League clash.

Lennon says he has complete trust in his current squad to get the job done.

Meanwhile it has been revealed that Celtic will feature a different sponsor on their shirts for the game. Kazakhstan’s strict laws on alcohol promotion mean that Celtic’s Magners sponsor will be replaced by a mineral water logo. (Various)

Hibs to appeal red

Hibs will appeal against the red card handed to Kevin Thomson during Saturday’s draw with Dundee United.

Thomson was sent off after an altercation following a high tackle by United’s Gavin Gunning, with escalated into a scuffle involving a dozen players. (Daily Express)

Massone ‘would have chased Hearts fans away’

Foundation of Hearts chairman Ian Murray says that there was never any danger of the group joining forces with rival bidder Angelo Massone.

Murray says Massone would have killed the FoH vision of having Hearts fans fund the club, as they would be reluctant to do so if Massone was involved. (Scotsman)

Caprice at St Mirren

St Mirren have taken Blackpool youngster Jake Caprice on trial, in the hope of a loan deal developing.

The 20-year-old will look to make his name under boss Danny Lennon. (Sun)

Wilson set for Tannadice return

Mark Wilson looks set to enjoy a second spell at Dundee United after boss Jackie McNamara was impressed during trials.

Wilson previously left the club in 2006 to join Celtic and has since had a stint at Bristol City. (Various)
