PARTICK Thistle have launched their new away kit, designed in support of the Breast Cancer Care charity.

The kit deal will see £3 from every shirt sale donated to the charity, which provides specialist support for those affected by breast cancer. It follows on from an earlier fundraising deal to brand the headrests in the Firhill dugouts with the charity’s logo.

The strips comprise a black shirt with pink panels, white shorts, and pink socks, with the charity’s logo on the front of the shirt.

Jags managing director Ian Maxwell told ptfc.co.uk: “We already have a close partnership with Breast Cancer Care Scotland and the link up with the dugout seats has worked really well.

“It’s a fantastic charity and one that deals with a subject which affects so many families across Scotland. I know many people that are associated with the Club have had their lives touched by breast cancer so it’s an ideal charity for us to get involved with.

“In modern football it’s easy to get carried away with the importance of what is happening on the pitch. However, when you see the work Breast Cancer Care Scotland does, and the practical support it provides for those directly and indirectly affected by breast cancer, it really puts things into perspective. It’s a cause we as a club are proud to be associated with and a partnership I hope lasts for the foreseeable future.”

Shona Smith of Breast Cancer Care Scotland said they were ‘thrilled’ at the link-up, adding: “The funds raised will enable the charity to continue to offer essential support through our free and confidential helpline and face-to-face services, to all those affected by this brutal disease. We can’t wait to see the team, and their fans, in the strip this season.”
