CELTIC defender Efe Ambrose has admitted that his desire is to one day play in the English Premier League, but is happy at Parkhead.
The Nigerian stopper was yesterday linked with Sunderland, along with reported interest from Swansea and the Anfield side, after impressing since his arrival from Israeli side FC Ashdod last summer on a three-year deal.
Ambrose has revealed that his dream is to play in the English Premier League, saying: “I am happy to be linked with a club like Liverpool. My dream is to play across the border. The English league is the best but I am happy at Celtic.”
The 24-year-old, who won the African Cup of Nations with Nigeria before returning to Glasgow and lining up for Celtic against Juventus, was scapegoated by team-mate Kris Commons after the 3-0 reversal.
Ambrose added: “I love the fans [at Celtic] and we were unlucky against Juventus.”
The Super Eagles defender has scored three goals since his £1.5 million move to Scotland.
