Academy seeks help in spades

BROXBURN Academy is appealing for residents with gardening experience to bring their spades and help out at its “big dig” event.

Volunteers are needed to help out with work on creating a new garden, which is taking place at the school on May 3 and 4.

And anyone who is able to help out with the work has been asked to bring spades and tools for digging holes for fence posts.

Broxburn Academy head-teacher Peter Reid said: “We are looking for volunteers who are fit and with gardening experience to come along and help us to create our garden at the school.

“Volunteers would also need to bring their own tools.”

Anyone who has gardening experience and can help out with the big dig, which takes place between 8.30am and 3.30pm on both days, even for part of the time, should e-mail [email protected]
