HEARTS have announced the sale of over 10,000 season tickets for the 2014/15 Scottish Championship campaign.

Despite suffering relegation to the second tier the figure is only 500 short of last season’s overall total, with supporters still having until the 9th of August to snap up the remaining tickets.

It mirrors the build up to the 2006/07 season when over 12,000 tickets were sold in total and the club had to put several thousand fans on a waiting list.

Back then it was the hedonistic highs of the Romanov revolution that fans were buying into. Now, after riding through an emotional rollercoaster over the past 10 years, supporters are happy to subscribe to Ann Budge’s more pragmatic approach to running a football club.

In addition to the new owner, Hearts have also secured Craig Levein as director of football, a new head coach in Robbie Neilson and added five players to the first team squad as they look to make an immediate return to the Scottish Premiership.

“To have hit 10,000 season ticket sales in less than a month is nothing short of phenomenal,” said a club spokesman.

“Once again the Hearts supporters have demonstrated their incredible loyalty to the club.

“The revival is well and truly underway.

“With the last weekend of the Phase One sales coming up, business will be brisk again so supporters shouldn’t wait too long to secure their desired seat for the new season.”
