Fox has faith that Livi can recapture Raith form

LIVINGSTON skipper Liam Fox is hoping for a return to the form that saw the Lions thump Raith Rovers 4-0 a fortnight ago when Dundee come calling tomorrow, with the side looking to bounce back from a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Ayr’s Somerset Park last week.

Hopes were high for Livi going into the game last weekend after back-to-back successes in West Lothian, but, despite early domination, John Hughes’ team couldn’t take their chances in Ayrshire and succumbed to an eventual two-goal loss.

And Fox insists the players are working hard to right the wrongs of last week when they take on the Dark Blues tomorrow.

He said: “Anyone who was at the game [last weekend] would have seen that we started very well, but you have to take your chances when you’re on top or it can come back to bite you in the backside and I think that’s what maybe happened.

“We conceded poor goals from set pieces and that’s something were working on. It’s happened a few times this season and its something were going to have to work extremely hard at to put right.”

Yogi’s first game in charge was against Raith and Fox added: “It was obviously very disappointing to pick up nothing, but as a squad we don’t get too high when we win and we don’t get too low when we lose, so we were back in Monday morning ready to go again.”

Livi have tasted success and failure in the meetings with Dundee this campaign, with an emphatic 4-2 victory early in the campaign balanced by a 3-0 defeat at Dens only a few weeks ago.

The midfielder reckons Dundee are right up there with Ross County in terms of quality, and he knows it’ll be a tough test for the home side to get the win.

He said: “Although I know Ross County are on top – and the league doesn’t lie – Dundee have been very, very impressive when I’ve seen them. The way they play football and the quality of players that they’ve got always makes them tough opponents.

“In Barry Smith they’ve got a good manager, and they have players who are dangerous, so it’s a big game. We’re looking forward to it, and one we know we’ll need to be at our best to get anything from the match.”
