CELTIC have announced that they will travel to Finland to take on German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in a friendly match this August.

The glamour friendly will be played on Saturday August 2nd, in Helsinki’s Olympic Stadium.

German side Leverkusen are currently third in the Bundesliga, and are managed by former Liverpool and Finland defender Sami Hyypia.

The Hoops travelled to Philadelphia to take on Real Madrid in August 2012, and prior to the 2013/14 season travelled to Australia for a number of friendly fixtures.

The match will also be a homecoming of sorts for Celtic’s Finnish striker Teemu Pukki, who hails from the town of Kotka, around 80 miles from the Finnish capital.
