Hutchison Vale boss Ian McDonald believes Hibernian Ladies’ midweek defeat by Spartans has made it harder for his side to pull off a shock result tomorrow.
Hutchie face the Hibees at Saughton Enclosure (kick-off 3.00pm) hoping to bounce back from a poor run of results but know they must be at their best against a Hibs side that suffered their first loss of the campaign on Wednesday.
McDonald said: “The fact Hibs got beaten probably makes it harder for us because they will have a point to prove.
“Despite this, we will approach the game no differently to any other and we will be working our hardest to come away with a positive result.”
Hibs boss Willie Kirk is looking for a good reaction from his players following Wednesday’s SWPL Cup semi-final defeat from Spartans.
He said: “We know we let ourselves down in midweek because we felt we had a great chance of success in the competition. We need to bounce back with a good performance and I’m looking for each player to react positively.”
Elsewhere, Spartans face rejuvenated Rangers at Ainslie Park (kick-off 1.00pm) aiming to build on reaching a fourth successive SWPL Cup final.
The Gers have made an impressive start to life under new head coach Angie Hinds and will fancy their chances of a result in the Capital.
