Shoddy airport

Edinburgh Airport purports to be an international gateway to the capital and to Scotland. On Sunday night passengers on a flight from the EU, having arrived on time, had to stand waiting for an hour and 25 minutes to collect their bags from the luggage carousel.

There were no explanatory announcements. When eventually their bags arrived, many travellers were faced with expensive taxi fares for their onward journeys into the city and to other parts of Scotland as most public transport had stopped for the night.

Coupled with the unpleasant departure experiences which many endure when negotiating security, when can we expect the owners Global Infrastructure Partners to improve their service? What kind of message does it send visitors and residents?
