Foster heads to Ibrox on loan as Aberdeen sign Velicka
Rangers last night completed the surprise signing of Ricky Foster from Aberdeen on a season-long loan while Andrius Velicka moved to Pittodrie from the Scottish champions in a similar deal. Stoke await green light after late triple swoop
Stoke were last night hoping to have beaten the transfer deadline after announcing the triple signing of Eidur Gudjohnsen, Jermaine Pennant and Marc Wilson. The Potters confirmed the captures of the trio nearly an hour and a half after the English window closed at 6pm, having thrashed out deals to sign Gudjohnsen and Pennant on loan and Wilson permanently. The club were awaiting confirmation from the Football Association and Premier League that the transfers were completed in time. (Various)
Sunderland pay record 13m for Gyan
Sunderland manager Steve Bruce smashed the club's transfer record in a 13million swoop for World Cup star Asamoah Gyan. Bruce finally got his hands on the Ghana international striker with just 20 minutes of the summer transfer window to spare when the 24-year-old completed his move from French Ligue 1 side Rennes. Robinho leaves Man City for AC Milan
Brazilian forward Robinho has signed for AC Milan on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee, variously reported as between 14 million and 18 million. Birmingham City made three signings on the final day of the transfer window, bringing in Alexander Hleb from Barcelona, Martin Jiranek from Spartak Moscow and Jean Beausejour from Club America. (Various)
