RANGERS IN CRISIS

Whyte added that there are no “missing millions” at Ibrox. (Record / Sun)

• Rangers players and staff were still in the dark last night over the timing of an announcement on job losses at the financially stricken club. Matt Phillips has revealed he rebuffed a last-ditch attempt by England caretaker manager Stuart Pearce to prevent him from committing his senior international career to Scotland. Although Fifa regulations will permit Phillips to switch his allegiance back to England until he has played in a competitive senior fixture for Scotland, he insists his decision is irreversible as far as he is concerned.
