Hearts players face more wage problems

Five senior players at Hearts may not receive their wages on time this week, according to The Sun.

However, the papers Tynecastle insider claims the wage issues are being caused by the late arrival of an annual pre-season payment from the SPL, and that the club will aggressively defend any attempted sanctions from the league over the issue. (The Sun)

Rangers waiting for David Templeton news

Rangers are still waiting for a full diagnosis of the ankle injury suffered by winger David Templeton in Saturdays draw with Annan. The former Hearts star said on Twitter: Not sure how it is yet. Need to wait on swelling to go down, then get a scan on it to see the damage. Templeton has already been ruled out of Rangers Ramsdens Cup clash with Queen of the South. (The Sun)

Alex McLeish refuses to rule out Scotland return

Alex McLeish has refused to rule out a second stint as Scotland boss - but insists he isnt looking for the job.

McLeish said: You cant rule out anything in football. Not that Im looking for Craigs job, you understand.

But its something you would always consider, especially when youre talking about managing your country. (Daily Record)

Ian Black warns Rangers teammates of Third Division danger

Ian Black has warned his fellow Rangers players that they need to improve their away form straight away if they want to claim the Third Division title.

Black said: We are just not starting well enough away from home. I dont know what it is and we cant seem to put our finger on it.

We have to get our finger out and improve quickly if we want to win the league. (Daily Record)

Andy Gray calls for Rhodes and Fletcher

Former Scotland striker Andy Gray has called for both Steven Fletcher and Jordan Rhodes to be Scotland starters.

The ex-Sky Sports man said: We do not possess enough good front men to be turning up our noses at 14m or 8m strikers.

He also claimed that Scotland are already out of qualifying contention, and that Craig Levein has nothing to lose by picking Rhodes.
