Laudrup says ‘let’s move on’
SWANSEA manager Michael Laudrup feels the time has come to move on from the furore caused by Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard’s clash with ball boy Charlie Morgan.
Hazard was sent off as Chelsea exited the Capital One Cup at the Liberty Stadium, after appearing to kick Morgan as the 17-year-old prevented the Belgian retrieving the ball with the Blues attempting to overturn a two-goal deficit.
Hazard has since been charged with violent conduct by the FA, meaning his automatic three-match ban for his dismissal could yet be extended. But Laudrup, who takes his side north to face Sunderland tonight, believes the apologies exchanged between Hazard and Morgan after the game mean no further action is necessary.
He said: “Things got a little out of proportion in the following days. There were mistakes on both parts, but obviously you cannot kick anyone. But I said after the game that what happened showed he (Hazard) is a good boy, he said sorry after the game. He has had his three-game ban and let’s carry on and not go too much into it, it’s in the past and that’s that, let’s move on.”
