Van Persie to Rangers?
EX-Manchester United and Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has been linked with a shock move to Rangers, with the Dutchman apparently keen to leave Turkish outfit Fenerbahce.
The Ibrox club, who are in the market for a striker, are odds-on to land the 32-year-old ahead of English Premier League outfit Stoke City. (Daily Record)
Celtic set to beat Betis to Bamford
CELTIC are in line to land Chelsea forward Patrick Bamford on a season-long loan deal, despite interest from La Liga outfit Real Betis.
Bamford, who spent time on loan at Norwich and Crystal Palace last season, is yet to make a first team appearance for the Blues but has impressed during loan spells at MK Dons and Middlesbrough. (Various)
Hearts ‘could sell Paterson’
HEARTS could cash in on highly-rated right back Callum Paterson if talks on a new deal continue to stall.
The 21-year-old defender, who won his first Scotland senior cap in the 1-0 loss to Italy in May, is into the final year of his contract at Tynecastle, having been with the club since 2010.
Paterson has been linked with a move to England in the past but Celtic are reportedly monitoring the situation. (Scottish Sun)
Hibs set to bring in goalkeeper
HIBS head coach Neil Lennon is keen on bringing in a goalkeeper before the Easter Road side’s trip to Shrewsbury Town - but it’s unlikely to be West Brom kid Alex Palmer.
Lennon has been linked with Irish goalie Brian Murphy, who played for Portsmouth last season.
The 33-year-old has had spells with Swansea, Bohemians in Ireland, Ipswich and QPR and kept 12 clean sheets in 25 games last season. (Irish Sun)
Hemmings joins Oxford United
DUNDEE striker Kane Hemmings left Dens Park to sign for Oxford United last night in a deal that will net the Dark Blues £250,000.
But Dundee fans could see Greg Stewart leave Tayside as well, after Birmingham City were linked with a move for the ex-Rangers youth.
The loss of Hemmings is the latest blow for Paul Hartley’s side, who lost to Peterhead in the League Cup earlier this week. (Various)
Garcia Tena faces six months on sidelines
HAMILTON defender Jesus Garcia Tena faces six months on the sidelines after suffering a knee ligament injury.
The Spanish stopper sustained the injury in the League Cup match with Ayr United, and is set to go under the knife later this week, but looks to be out of action until February. (Various)
Novo turned down India switch
NEW Glentoran signing Nacho Novo has revealed he turned down a money-spinning move to India to join the east Belfast side.
The 37-year-old signed a one-year deal with Glens earlier this week and insisted he had ‘come for success’.
The Spaniard is also keen to do his coaching badges and has been shadowing Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone. (Various)
