Arsenal eye up Dembele move

Arsenal are set to make a move for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele if Alexix Sanchez decides to leave the Emirates. Gunners gaffer Arsene Wenger is an admirer of Celtic’s 21-year-old in-demand forward and would be prepared to sanction a £30million raid for the Frenchman if Sanchez, Arsenal’s current talisman, departs during the summer transfer window. Hearts aim to thwart Jamie Walker move

Hearts hope to ward off sustained Rangers interest in midfielder Jamie Walker by offering him a new contract that will make him the highest paid player at Tynecastle. Rangers have already had three bids for the 24-year-old thrown out by Tynecastle chiefs and with Walker entering the final year of his contract, the Gers hope they can land him before the transfer window closes. Walker has intimated his desire to leave the Jambos when his contract expires next summer, but Hearts chiefs will launch one last attempt to keep him in Gorgie. (The Sun)

Linfield chairman slams yobs

Linfield chairman Roy McGivern has hit out at his fanbase’s troublemakers who marred the Champions League qualifier between the Irish side and Celtic on Friday evening, vowing to ban them from Windsor Park. McGivern said: “The bottle throwing should never have happened. We condemn the actions of a small number of people. When we gather the evidence and TV footage and the culprits are identified, they’ll be issued with a life ban.” (Daily Record)

Weiss would consider Gers return

Former Rangers winger Vladimir Weiss has admitted that he is still keen on a move back to Ibrox. The Slovakian international played for the Gers in season 2010/11 and asked on Twitter if he would consider a move back to Glasgow, he replied; “A million per cent.” (various)

Alves checks in at Ibrox

Egytians pay £10k for Collum’s services

Scottish referee Willie Collum will take charge of tonight’s powderkeg Egyptian derby between Zamalek and Al Ahly. The African country’s FA have paid £10,000 to secure the services of Collum. A foreign referee has been brought in to avoid any claims of favouritism. (various)

McKinnon: I won’t see Robertson cash

Dundee United manager Ray McKinnon has revealed he won’t see a penny of any windfall the Tannadice club receive if Andy Robertson leaves Hull for Liverpool. The Scotland left-back is expected to join the Reds later this week for £8million and due to sell-on clause inserted in the deal to take Robertson to Humberside, United will receive a proportion of the fee. However, McKinnon said: “There are a lot of bills to be paid after relegation. To keep the club running and afloat, whatever we get will have to go somewhere else.” (various)
