Bookmakers Paddy Power have claimed on social media that they will pay out bets on Celtic winning the 2017/18 Ladbrokes Premiership - before a ball has even been kicked.

Paddy Power tweeted their intentions just over an hour after Celtic’s rivals Rangers were eliminated from European football at the first hurdle.

The Ibrox side suffered an embarrassing 2-0 defeat away to part-time Luxembourg side Progres Niederkorn, going out 2-1 on aggregate.

Celtic won the Ladbrokes Premiership title last season, their sixth in a row, after going undefeated through the entire campaign.

Brendan Rodgers and his men finished 39 points ahead of Rangers. And, if tonight’s result is anything to go by, the gap is unlikely to be bridged next season.
