Dundee United manager Mixu Paatelainen has avoided an immediate touchline ban for his derby celebrations.
The Finn has been handed a suspended two-match touchline ban for misconduct in relation to his reaction to his side’s late equaliser in a 2-2 draw with Dundee last month.
Paatelainen will only serve the ban if he repeats his offence this year.
A Scottish Football Association disciplinary tribunal ruled he had breached rules by “shouting and gesticulating at away supporters”.
Paatelainen had stated he was looking forward to presenting his case after responding to taunts from Dundee fans by cupping his ears and pumping his fist in their direction after Billy McKay’s goal.
