CELTIC have been linked with another raid on Dundee United - this time for John Souttar.

The 18-year-old has been earmarked as potential cover for Scott Brown and Nir Bitton in the holding midfield role, and has impressed at Tannadice despite his tender years.

Formerly a centre half, Souttar has thrived since being pushed forward into midfield, and has made 46 appearances for United since making his debut in the 2012/13 season.

Capped at both Under-17 and Under-19 levels for Scotland, the 6ft 1in midfielder cut his teeth at Brechin City Boys Club before joining United in 2006 as a 10-year-old.

He is tied to United until January 2016, and it is thought Celtic could make a joint bid for Souttar and striker Nadir Ciftci.
