Hearts and Aberdeen will battle it out on Friday night football the evening before the Hogmanay Old Firm clash, after the latest round of SPFL matches selected for TV coverage were announced.

Celtic’s Christmas Eve trip to Hamilton Accies has been moved forward by a couple of hours to 12.30pm and will be broadcast on Sky Sports.

In addition to that match and the New Years’ trip to Ibrox, Celtic will have their visits to Kilmarnock, Motherwell and Partick Thistle broadcast live.

Similarly, Rangers fans will be able to watch their side take on Ross County, Partick Thistle, Hamilton and St Johnstone from the comfort of their own living room in the build up to the festive period.

Aberdeen will make three Friday night trips across November and December, travelling to Partick Thistle and Motherwell prior to the meeting with Hearts.

There has been one lower league fixture selected, which should prove to be an entertaining encounter as Hibs travel to Dundee United on Friday, 2 December.
