Liam Buchanan claimed a club scoring record for Livingston and took his team within touching distance of the League One title.

Buchanan, pictured, scored both of his side’s goals in the 2-0 win at Brechin City to take his season’s tally to 25 and beat the club scoring record for the season, previously held by Iain Russell. The victory moved Livingston 13 points clear as Alloa Athletic only managed a 1-1 draw at home to Albion Rovers. Jordan Kirkpatrick opened the scoring but Paul Willis countered for Albion.

Peterhead and Airdrieonians shared a 1-1 draw at Balmoor. Top scorer Rory McAllister put Peterhead in front with his 22nd goal of the campaign after seven minutes.Airdrie had a chance to level but Graeme Smith saved Iain Russell’s spot-kick. Peterhead’s point takes them further clear of Stenhousemuir at the bottom and keeps Airdrie in play-off contention.

Stranraer pushed Stenhousemuir adrift with a 3-0 win at Stair Park. They dominated pretty much from start to finish and could have won by a more handsome margin against a Stenny side who ended up with ten men.

Ryan Thomson’s early header was blocked by the goalkeeper after Liam Dick picked him out with a cross.

Stranraer’s pressure paid off when Scott Agnew put them ahead eight minutes from half-time.

Thomson scored their second goal early in the second half after a goalmouth scramble.

Stenhousemuir were reduced to ten men when Jamie McCormack was sent off for his second bookable offence.

Amadou Kassarate scored Stranraer’s third with three minutes left.

East Fife and Queen’s Park drew 0-0 at Bayview in a match of few chances.
