Ayr United pulled level with Raith Rovers at the top after overhauling nine-man Stranraer 2-0 at Somerset Park.

Both the goals came in the second half. Michael Moffat broke the deadlock and then Stranraer had Scott Robertson sent off, before Lawrence Shankland made sure of the points with a second goal with ten minutes left. The day got worse for the visitors when Steven Bell also received his marching orders.

Raith were held 1-1 at Forfar. It took Raith over an hour to break down the bottom club when John Herron netted but Mark Millar equalised from the penalty spot after Iain Davidson was sent off for a professional foul.

In an eventful Monklands derby, Airdrieonians were held 2-2 by nine-man Albion Rovers.

David Brownlie gave Airdrie a 24th-minute lead but Albion were level nine minutes from half-time when Alan Trouten netted from close range. The celebrations didn’t last long as Scott Stewart restored Airdrie’s lead and then Albion’s Jason Marr saw red. However, Gary Fisher grabbed an equaliser and they held on for a point despite going down to nine men after Scott McLaughlin’s late sending off.

East Fife came from behind to beat Arbroath 3-1. Bobby Linn gave Arbroath the lead but Chris Duggan struck twice in the second half and Mark Lamont scored the third.

Alloa Athletic thumped Queen’s Park 4-0 at Hampden. Paul Crossan broke the deadlock, Craig Malcolm fired home the second goal from close range, Andy Graham headed the third and Darryl Meggatt netted the fourth.
