MANCHESTER United manager David Moyes has not given up on signing Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
United have failed with two bids for the former Arsenal player, the latest of which was reported to be £30 million plus add-ons.
But Moyes has confirmed he is still targeting the 26-year-old Spain internationalist and is keen to make him his first addition since taking over as manager from Sir Alex Ferguson at the start of the month.
He told a news conference in Osaka that “things are ongoing”.
Moyes also confirmed that striker Robin van Persie has shaken off a thigh injury in time to play in United’s next tour match against Cerezo Osaka today.
Fellow striker Wayne Rooney has also rejoined the squad in Japan and the 27-year-old’s hamstring injury is said to be “on the mend”.
