Leicester City target Celtic interest Elyounoussi

Molde star Mohamed Elyounoussi is being touted as a possible replacement for Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez - only months after claiming that Celtic were interested in securing his signature.

The 21 year-old Norwegian has scored 36 goals in 78 games for Molde since moving from Sarpsborg in 2014. Elyounoussi scored twice against the Hoops in the Europa League earlier this season. (ESPN)

Cummings spotted by five English Championship clubs

Hibernian striker Jason Cummings will have scouts from Fulham, Derby County, Brighton, Cardiff and Wolves watching him play during this weekend’s League Cup Final against Ross County.

Cummings, who has scored 20 goals in 33 appearances this season, has been valued at approximately £1m. (Daily Mail)

McInnes ‘loving it’ as Aberdeen cut Premiership gap

Goals from Andrew Considine and Simon Church came only minutes apart to reverse the damage done by Partick’s Steven Lawless last night. Dons boss McInnes said: “I think there will be more games like tonight before the end of the season but I am loving it to be honest.

“It will be a rollercoaster, there will be games fraught with nerves for everybody else.” (STV Sport)

Bodul ‘offered for swap deal with Gareth Bale’ in 2009

Darko Bodul, the Dundee United striker who has scored zero goals in 12 appearances since his move to Tannadice last summer, was apparently once offered in a bizarre swap deal for Gareth Bale.

A national newspaper report from back in 2009 credits Bale’s old manager at Tottenham Martin Jol with an interest in his former player during his spell at Ajax.

In 2009, the Welshman was struggling to get into the Spurs side and the North London club were considering selling him.

While the Dutch side wanted Bale, they were only willing to offer the Croatian on a season-long loan. (The Scotsman)

MLS clubs eye Celtic’s Rogic

Australian midfielder Tom Rogic could be headed to the USA if a deal between him and Celtic is not struck.

Rogic is one of 16 midfielders in the Celtic first-team squad and is under contract with the Parkhead side until summer 2017, with MLS scouts spotted at recent Celtic games. (Glasgow Evening Times)

Ross apologises to Dundee FC fans for loss

Midfielder Nick Ross has apologised to fans following the 4-0 cup exit they suffered at the hands of Rangers. He said: “They came to see us in good numbers and their support before the game was excellent. All we can do is apologise to them for the performance.”

“I won the cup last year [with Inverness CT], so I know how special that can feel.” (Dundee Evening Telegraph)

Simunovic to return to Celtic squad

Croatian defender Jozo Simunovic could return to first-team action by April, following a knee injury in January that took him out of contention for eight games.

At the time of his injury, he was found to have been playing with a broken bone in his knee. The defender has since been spotted jogging at Celtic’s training ground. (The Sun)

McGeouch ruled out of Hibs League Cup final

Alan Stubbs has expressed sympathy for Dylan McGeouch after the Hibernian midfielder was yesterday ruled out of Sunday’s League Cup final against Ross County.

The former Celtic player will miss the match with a persistent groin problem and will now see a specialist in a bid to resolve the issue which has plagued him for much of the season.

McGeouch limped out of Sunday’s Scottish Cup tie against Inverness Caledonian Thistle but travelled to Spain with the rest of the Hibs squad for their pre-cup final training camp. (The Scotsman)
