Queen of the South’s on-loan Hibs winger Alex Harris will miss out when the Easter Road men visit Palmerston tonight, and for the football-crazy 21-year-old it will be a frustrating evening.

Harris loves the game and is usually the last player off the Doonhamers’ training pitch after staying behind for extra sessions, so to miss any fixture is disappointing for him.

But, looking ahead and with the play-offs in mind, Harris is hoping that he is idle for a couple of other games later in the season. “I want to play in as many games as I can, so to be involved and then have to sit out is annoying,” he explained.

“It will be frustrating watching from the stand but I knew it would happen when I came here on loan. It has happened twice already this season and could happen another three times if Hibs do not win the league. That would actually be a bonus as it would mean Queens are in the play-offs.”

As well as missing Harris tonight, Queens’ top goalscorer Derek Lyle is a major doubt with a calf injury.
