Fishing: We asked for your funniest angling moments..

Colin Johnstone, Berwick: "The funniest thing I have seen while fishing was when a mate and I had just set out in a boat and I told him to throw out the drogue. What he forgot to do was tie it on to the boat and we lost it over the side!"

Jimmy Castle, Fernieside: "We were fishing in a big wave and, as my boat partner was on a boat seat, the water would hit his seat while he was casting. On one occasion, he leaned back and rolled out of the back of the boat screaming. I don't know why as it was only four feet deep and he could have stood up and walked out of the water."

Alistair Dodds, Glenfarg: "I was watching a youngster fishing on our local river. One minute he was standing with his rod bent over, playing a fish. Next thing he floated past us – still playing the fish. After half an hour, he walked back up river with a fish in his hand, laughing."

We have been warned about American Signal Crayfish invading our rivers and waterways. Have you seen or heard of them in your water yet?
