Brian Williamson from Alloa had three for 6lb, best 2lb 10oz, and Alan Bernard from Tillicoultry took two for 4lb on the CDC.
LOCH LEVEN (01577 865386): Loch Leven continues to fish well, both during the day and in the evening. When the temperature holds up some nice rises of fish have been seen to mainly Buzzers of various sizes. Water temperature is rising steadily at the moment and is currently around 16C. Clarity remains good at three meters and with weed growth also starting, everything at the moment looks good for the fish and their growth. The rainbows are putting on weight and have silvered up very nicely, and the newly stocked brown trout are performing well in the evenings when a suitable hatch of flies take splace. Quite a number of the previously stocked browns are making anappearance in the usual brown trout drifts of East Buoy, South Deeps and St Serfs. The open water drifts such as the North Deeps, South Side of St Serfs and Sluices are still working well. When conditions are suitable Buzzer fishing is still working well as are various mini lures with orange being the prominent colour. With the advance of the weed growth we look forward to all the associated food in both fly and crustacean form being presented to the fish which does present good conditions to get some overwintered fish available. The best angling club result was on Thursday Evening when Edinburgh Trout Anglers caught five brown weighing 10lb 3oz and 37 rainbow weighing 45lb 5oz
LOCH FITTY, Kingseat (Tel/Fax: 01383 620 666): The Main Loch has produced some great sport with evening sessions now coming into their own and with the recent glorious weather, the heat has produced good hatches of sedges and fry. Curly Wilson from Cowdenbeath had 12 fish for 19lb while Crossgates pair Shearer and Walls also had 12 for a slightly higher weight of 24lb. Best flies: Diawl Bach, Kate McLaren, CDCs and Buzzers. Hotspots: Bank o’ Reeds and Cushat Wood. The Loch Fitty Boat Pairs Competition took place in bright sunshine and very little wind.
