Euro exit for Scots women
DESPITE comfortably winning their final round-robin game by 9-4 over England, Kelly Wood's Scottish women crashed out of medal contention at the Le Gruyere European Curling Championships here in Ornskoldsvik, Sweden yesterday, writes Mike Haggerty.
After cruising to victory the Scots had to endure watching two other games that held their fate in their hands. But the Czech Republic could not beat Denmark, nor could Russia overcome Germany, and the Scottish campaign ended with a ranking of sixth and the consolation of knowing they had secured a place in next year's World Championships.
