Elgin City 0 - 1 Clyde: John Stewart secures rare win
CLYDE clambered off the bottom of the Third Division after John Stewart's late winner grabbed their second win at Borough Briggs inside a fortnight.
David Gormley had the ball in the Clyde net after eight minutes but was adjudged to have fouled his marker before he shot home.
The visitors hit back with a Connor Stevenson free kick which was met by an Alan Lithgow volley but Elgin keeper Peter Donnelly was at full stretch to make a fine save low to his right.
Elgin were on top in terms of chances created, with both Craig Frizzel and Jason Crooks seeing efforts blocked in the Clyde goalmouth. Brian Cameron was the second Elgin player to have a goal disallowed when he was adjudged offside as he tucked away a Gormley cross.
Clyde snatched victory with a goal against the run of play on 83 minutes. Kevin Finlayson hit the crossbar with a powerful long range strike and Stewart was on hand to nod the rebound into an empty net.
