Elgin marvels steal last-minute equaliser in six-goal thriller
THIRD Division
Annan Athletic 3 Elgin City 3
ELGIN City produced a dramatic comeback to salvage a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw at Annan.
The home side deservedly went ahead after 21 minutes when Graeme Bell drilled home after good work from Lewis Sloan.
Elgin responded six minutes later when Shane Sutherland stabbed in from close range, courtesy of some woeful Annan defending.
But Annan restored their lead in 36 minutes when Sloan ran through to fire home a low shot from eight yards.
Bell put the hosts further ahead with a magnificent solo effort just after the break before Sutherland hauled Elgin back into it with a fine strike in 57 minutes.
With only seconds remaining, Elgin substitute Dave Smith snatched an equaliser to stun the hosts.
Queen's Park 2 Berwick Rangers 3
BERWICK bolstered their play-off hopes with an entertaining 3-2 victory against Queen's Park at Hampden.
Jack Henry gave the hosts an ideal start when he netted with a looping header after 11 minutes.
However, Berwick striker Damon Gray headed home from close range on the stroke of half-time to equalise.
In the 64th minute, Gray added a second to put Berwick in front before Queen's Park substitute Ian Watt looked to have rescued a point with a stunning solo strike.
But Gary Greenhill scored Berwick's winner four minutes from time before the hosts and Paul McGinn sent off at the death.
East Stirling 4 Forfar Athletic 0
SIMON Lynch scored a hat-trick and Andy Rodgers was also on target as East Stirling thrashed Forfar 4-0 at Ochilview.
Stranraer 0 Montrose 2
IT WAS the tale of two veterans at Stair Park as Montrose enjoyed a rare win at Stranraer.
Paul Tosh put the visitors ahead after 32 minutes before player-boss Steve Tweed added a decisive second goal midway through the second period.
Yesterday's match between Third Division leaders Livingston and Albion Rovers was postponed.
