Edinburgh will start, and hope to finish, at Murrayfield

EDINBURGH will launch their Heineken Cup campaign at Murrayfield, dreaming of concluding the 14th tournament back in the Scottish capital for the final next May, while Glasgow supporters are destined to become very familiar with Newport after being handed another early visit to Rodney Parade.

Andy Robinson's capital side will face Brian O'Driscoll's Leinster first. The reigning Magners League champions have lost on their last two Heineken Cup trips to the Scottish capital, in 2006 and 2007.

This year's meeting is on Saturday, 11 October, with a 1.35pm kick-off (live on Sky), while at 2.30pm on the same day Glasgow launch their campaign at the Dragons. Sean Lineen's team have the glamour home tie just six days later when they welcome Toulouse to Firhill (8pm kick-off, live on Sky).

Edinburgh are also up against French opposition in the second week of competition, facing Castres on Saturday 18 October.

In December, Edinburgh host English champions Wasps on Friday 5 (7.30pm) and Glasgow play Bath on Sunday 7 (1pm).

The reverse fixtures the following weekend are both on the Sunday. Dates for the final pool games in January are still to be finalised.
