Edinburgh kids break records
EDINBURGH Athletic Club had five wins, two of them with records, when finishing fourth in the UK National Young Athletes final at Manchester.
Emild Dudgeon won the under-17 800 metres in 2:13.8, a league best, while the under-15 boys 4 x 100 metres relay team of Calvin Girvan, Tom Holligan, Kieran Kivlin and Cameron Goodall set new figures of 45.25.
Al Hamilton took the under-17 triple jump with a leap of 13.76m, Beth Valente the javelin with a throw of 28.48m and Ben Robbins the under-13 200m in 27.18.
Overall, the club gave the best Scottish performance since the league introduced combined scoring for boys' and girls' teams in 2004.
