Edinburgh give winger Turnbull two-year contract extension

Edinburgh are to reward will o' the wisp rugby winger Andy Turnbull with a two year contract extension.

The 27-year-old former Watsonians ace, who stands just 5ft 7in, has proved a fans' favourite this season in eight outings which are due to increase when he lines up on Saturday in place of John Houston against Newport Gwent Dragons in the Celtic League at Murrayfield.

For Turnbull it will be a first start since notching a try in the 32-5 win over Connacht four matches ago which earned warm praise from Edinburgh coach Andy Robinson, who said: "Andy took his try well and what we are working on now, to get him to the next level, concerns when there is less space. He can still be devastating if we get it right."

After flitting out of the sevens scene Turnbull, who has made a total of 43 appearances for Edinburgh since signing from Rotherham, has also demonstrated progress this term with a Scotland A cap in the visit to Ireland A.
