THE match of the day in the East section of The Hamilton Trophy takes place at Northern BC tomorrow with the vastly improved Edinburgh & Leith bidding to keep their qualifying hopes alive at the expense of league leaders West Lothian.

E&L team manager Willie Watson will be without George Kirk, Darren Hush and Alan Trotter but has called up quality replacements in the shape of Gordon Bold, Alan Brown and Gavin Smith.

Bold takes over from Kirk at second to Mal Higgenbotham and a further change in that rink sees Brown step into the shoes of Robert Donaldson at third. Donaldson moves over to replace Hush at third to James Hogg. Smith is a direct
replacement for Trotter at lead to Robert Marshall while the rinks skipped by Willie McDonald, Paul O’Donnell and Paul Veitch remain intact.

WL have been winning well despite being without star names Grant Logan, Thomas Mann, Neil Speirs and George Sneddon for the last two games, but they are now available to team manager Jim Mallon.

While Mallon is expected to field a full-strength team against E&L, he has not yet made his line-up public.

Joint leaders East Lothian expect to have Alex Marshall, Derek Oliver, Steven Morgan, and Craig Valentine back in action for their tough-looking match against Midlothian at Newbattle.
