Doubts cast over Proctor's Lions future
MARK PROCTOR takes his Livingston team to St Johnstone tomorrow for the final game of the season with nothing at stake – except his job.
Proctor's role at Almondvale has once more come under the spotlight after a national newspaper claimed today that new co-owner Anthony McMullen was set to install his friend Roddy Collins as football director and ask him to find a new boss.
Proctor is not happy discussing speculation and has said he will continue in his role until someone tells him otherwise. "I am one year into a two-year-contract and until someone tells me otherwise I am carrying on as normal. There are new owners and they are bound to want to review things, that is only natural."
Proctor has also dismissed reports that he is to join West Brom as a coach.
Collins won the Irish double with Bohemians in 2000/01 but his managerial career has been controversial since then.
He was replaced at Bohemians after demanding more money from the board and he was sacked after two seasons at Carlisle after falling out with a new owner. He walked out on Dublin City after just four months in 2004 to join Shamrock Rovers where he lasted just 12 months and was sacked after leading them to relegation for the first time ever.
