Double Dutch injury blow
CELTIC striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink has pulled out of the squad for the Netherlands' World Cup qualifiers against Iceland and Norway.
Vennegoor of Hesselink picked up a groin injury during the win over Hamilton on Saturday and has since told national coach Bert van Marwijk he is unable to feature in the Group 9 double-header.
A statement on the KNVB website said: "Van Marwijk will, for now, not call up a replacement for the 19-times capped international."
The Dutch meet Iceland in Rotterdam on Saturday before travelling to Oslo to play Norway four days later.
Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben will also miss the qualifying matches due to a hamstring injury. The former Chelsea player picked up the injury 25 minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute for Real Madrid in the 2-2 draw with Espanyol on Sunday.
