ALLOA kept their four-point lead over Queen's Park in a barren encounter.

It was typical relegation fare with chances few and far between. Paul Harkins shot wide for Queen's Park after 19 minutes before Paul Cairney saw a shot cleared off the line by Scott Buist.

Kyle McAulay responded for Alloa before half-time, but his shot was blocked by Jamie Brough.

Ryan Holms had a chance to win it nine minutes from time for Queen's Park but Raymond Jellema saved.

Arbroath 2

Stranraer 0

ARBROATH eased their relegation fears with a comfortable win over relegated Stranraer.

Craig Forsyth opened the scoring with a header after an indirect free-kick midway through the first half. Ten minutes after the break, Robbie Ross doubled Arbroath's advantage when he was sent clear by Barry Sellars and he produced a slick finish.

Sellars then hit the the crossbar as Arbroath pressed for a third and Ross also hit woodwork.

Ayr United 2

East Fife 0

AYR kept on the heels of Raith after a quickfire double-strike in the second half.

Mark Roberts broke the deadlock early in the second half when he kept his cool to send a controlled shot into the top corner of the net. It was 2-0 moments later when Scott Walker missed a good chance but substitute Kenny Connolly followed up to score.

Bobby Linn was sent off for picking up a second yellow card to leave no way back for East Fife.

Peterhead 1

Stirling Albion 1

BOBBY Mann clinched Peterhead's place in the promotion play-offs with a wonderful free-kick.

After a goalless first half, Mann made the breakthrough eight minutes into the second half with a superbly-struck free-kick from 25 yards.

Paul Murphy equalised within five minutes when he scored in a crowded area after Peterhead failed to deal with a John O'Neil free-kick, but the point was enough to put them in the play-offs.

Raith Rovers 2

Brechin City 0

RAITH kept their lead at the top thanks to late goals from Robert Sloan and Graham Weir.

There was a scare for the home side when Mark Campbell headed the ball against his own crossbar late in the half.

Craig Nelson pulled off a terrific save to keep out a Sloan header just after half-time but the breakthrough was finally made in the 74th minute with a cracking free-kick from 25 yards and then laid on the second for Weir with six minutes left.
