Dillon latest to extend his United stay
SEAN Dillon is the latest player to pledge his future to Dundee United after agreeing a new deal. The defender, 25, has signed a three-year contract extension which keeps him at Tannadice until May 2012.
He followed the lead of skipper Lee Wilkie and Jon Daly who have also recently penned new deals.
Manager Craig Levein said: "Sean is a natural right-back, but is also a very versatile defender who is able to fill any position along the back line. This gives me options and cover defensively and helps to strengthen the squad as a whole.
"However, first and foremost, Sean is a naturally-gifted attacking full-back with a great ability to deliver quality crosses into the box.
"He is a model professional who goes about his business in the right way and I'm delighted that he so readily agreed to sign on for a further three years."
Dillon said: "The biggest factor in my decision to re-sign was the fact that the manager had already agreed to stay. In my view, this move sent out a hugely positive signal about the future of Dundee United, not only to the supporters, but also to the players."
