Dear maintains good form on Florida tour
GAVIN Dear's build-up to next week's Alps Tour qualifying school has been boosted with three more top-ten finishes on the Minor League Golf Tour in the United States.
The former Walker Cup player, who scored his first pro win on the Florida-based mini-circuit a fortnight ago, finished third in the Ocean Breeze Shootout and followed that up with a share of seventh in the Abacoa Shootout and a tie for fourth in the November Classic.
Dear, who has pocketed almost 1,300 during his short stint in the US, will return to Scotland this week ahead of the Alps Tour q-school final in Italy.
