Davydenko glitters in London
NIKOLAY Davydenko held aloft the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals trophy after beating Juan Martin del Potro in straight sets in the final at London's O2 Arena yesterday.
The Russian, who beat Roger Federer in the semi-final, was something of a surprise winner given that the more illustrious likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray were also involved in the eight-man competition featuring the world's best players. The 28-year-old is now aiming to build on his career-best win, worth $1.5 million, in 2009.
