David Moyes: We lack confidence
EVERTON manager David Moyes believes his players are having a crisis of confidence which has contributed to their recent poor form.
Injuries have ravaged the squad and a run of one win in ten matches has left the Toffees dangerously close to the relegation zone as tomorrow's derby with Liverpool looms.
"Confidence is difficult to put into words. You can't put confidence onto the training ground, you can't go out and say 'Come on, we're going to work on confidence today'," he said. "You can encourage your players, praise them and make them feel better about themselves but ultimately that comes from inside the player."
Moyes is concentrating on getting his tactics right for tomorrow's game rather than worrying about what side the opposition might field or trying to second-guess counterpart Rafael Benitez's game-plan.
"I have to make sure I get our house in order because if we don't it wouldn't matter if they played their under-14s," he added.
