Darren Fletcher an unfair target of caustic attacks

I NOTE that Glenn Gibbons is back with his usual caustic comments aimed mainly at Rangers Football Club and their affairs. Last week for a change he aimed his barbs at Darren Fletcher of Manchester United and seems unhappy with the fact that Fletcher has replaced the inept Stephen McManus of Celtic as captain of the Scotland football team. Contrary to some of Mr Gibbons' comments, Sir Alex Ferguson and his staff have been at pains to praise Fletcher without being foolish and comparin

It was not surprising, but disappointing, to note Mr Gibbons' failure to mention never mind criticise the sections of Celtic supporters at the recent game at Falkirk who refused to recognise the minute's silence in commemoration of the victims of recent and not-so-recent wars by signing republican songs during the proceedings, bringing shame to Celtic FC and their decent fans.

Sky TV managed to omit this shameful outrage but the disturbances could be heard clearly on other channels.

Remembrance disruption

Presumably the minority of Celtic fans who disrupted the Remembrance Sunday service would prefer to develop their vocal dexterity with the assistance of the Gestapo.
