Czechs bank crucial points
THE Czech Republic moved five points clear of Scotland in Euro 2012 Group I last night with a nervy 2-0 win over minnows Liechtenstein.
The Czechs, who have now played a game more than Craig Levein's side, shrugged off the disappointment of their weekend loss to World and European champions Spain with an early goal from Milan Baros followed by a late clincher from Michael Kadlec.
The Spaniards, meanwhile, maintained their 100 per cent record in Group I with a 3-1 win over Lithuania in Kaunas.
Xavi's early strike was cancelled out by Marius Stankevicius in the 57th minute but an own goal by Tadas Kijanskas restored Spain's advantage and Juan Mata made sure of the points seven minutes from time.
