Cycling: Philippe Gilbert reigns in Spain
Belgium's Philippe Gilbert took a solo victory in the San Sebastian Classic one-day race yesterday.
The Omega Pharma-Lotto rider and reigning Belgian national champion blasted away alone with four kilometres to go in the hilly Spanish race. Second, around 12 seconds back, was 2009 winner Carlos Barredo of Spain, with Belgian Greg Van Avermaet in third.
Gilbert had already racked up three victories this year, as well as winning the opening stage of the Tour de France.

Scots prove unbeatable
Scotland's women ensured at least a share of the spoils in the three-match Test series with South Africa in Dublin with a 2-2 draw yesterday following their initial 4-3 win on Friday night.
Scotland led 2-1 at half time through Vikki Bunce and Holly Cram after falling behind in the opening minutes to Kathleen Taylor. South Africa levelled in the second half through Marsha Marescia.
Today is the final game of the series.

Spanish final in Gstaad
Victories for Fernando Verdasco and Marcel Granollers set up an all-Spanish final in the Gstaad International men's singles in Switzerland.
In the first semi-final, No.4 seed Verdasco beat top seed and fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro 6-7 (2) 7-6 (2) 6-3. While No.8 seed Granollers upset the seeding again when he defeated the third favourite Mikhail Youzhny of Russia 6-3 3-6 6-2.

Muller on German pole
Chevrolet driver Yvan Muller claimed pole position for today's World Touring Car Championship round at Oschersleben in northern Germany.
The 41-year-old Frenchman, currently second in the driver's championship, led home Robert Dahlgren - whose second represents the best-ever qualifying position for Volvo - with championship leader and fellow Chevrolet driver Rob Huff back in third. Gabriele Tarquini took fourth place in his Seat.

Kings crush Kyles
Kingussie went on the rampage yesterday to lift the Sutherland Cup 6-1 against Kyles in Aberdeen.
It was a glory day for Martin Dallas, who also played a vital role in the club's MacTavish Cup victory over Fort William a month ago.The youngster, son of Kings legend Ali, hit the net four times as Kingussie proved far too strong for their Tighnabruaich opponents. Kevin Thain and Peter Dixon netted the other goals while Kyles' strike came from Ali Mackay.
