Curling: Campbell returns for Scots
MURRAYFIELD'S Colin Campbell is back on the ice today at the Bern Open in Switzerland in his first appearance since helping Scotland to the European mixed curling title in Prague.
The former world junior medallist links up with Stirling's Logan Gray, Lockerbie's Richard Woods and Perth skip Pete Loudon for the latest round of the World Curling Tour. They were due to face Switzerland's Sven Iten in round one today.
In total, 31 other teams have entered from 11 countries, including Canada, Germany, France, Holland, Italy, Norway, Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic and hosts Switzerland.
Scotland has sent five teams, and although Loudon, Warwick Smith, Jamie Dick and former world champion Hammy McMillan could feature strongly, the man they all have to beat is current world champion David Murdoch as the Lockerbie skip continues his build-up to February's Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
