Grange II, Murrayfield DAFS and Carlton II all remained unbeaten in cricket’s East One league over the weekend.
Iain Worth and Stuart Moffat were in the runs to help Grange II swat aside Holy Cross at Arboretum. Batting first in a match reduced to 45 overs a side, Worth led the way with 103, while Moffat made 76 as the visitors made 297-4. In their reply, Holy Cross opener Raja Javed made 99 before falling to Collister and in the end the team fell 112 runs short.
Murrayfield DAFS defeated Musselburgh at Leith Academy’s ground reduced to 40 overs a side. And yesterday at Grange Loan, 64 not out from Matt Crowther helped Carlton II defeat Edinburgh Accies. Those runs led the way as the hosts posted 200-7 and then the bowlers did a grand job, including 12-year-old Angus Beattie, as Accies were all out for 132.
