Collingwood hopes it'll add up in Adelaide

ENGLAND cricketer Paul Collingwood returns to the scene of his career high tomorrow hoping to rediscover the form he left behind earlier this winter.

Since the second Ashes Test at the Adelaide Oval, during which Collingwood struck an historic double hundred, he has been in the worst slump of his international career.

The 30-year-old scored only 104 runs in his final six Test innings and has managed only 63 more in the initial four matches of the Commonwealth Bank Series.

Collingwood and his top-order colleagues failed once again on the same ground on Tuesday in the crushing loss to New Zealand and now face the tournament hosts on Australia Day, searching for a semblance of form.

"I have obviously been thinking about it, trying to improve, trying to get some runs on the board and do my job for the team," said Collingwood. "It is a good ground for me personally getting a big score like that. Yeah, the form has tailed off a little bit but I am working as hard in the nets as I always do.

Hopefully one big score is just around the corner and I can get back on track. Every player goes through dips in form."
