Bathgate festival seeks help

ORGANISERS of the week-long Bathgate Music Festival have issued a plea for more volunteers to come forward.

The festival has become a popular fixture on the West Lothian annual events calendar, having run each September for the past five years.

Different styles of music are featured, including jazz, soul, traditional and rock music. A call for fresh blood is aimed at shoring up the event’s future. People with bookkeeping and event management skills are at the top of the wish list.

David Stein, chairman of the organising committee, said: “We are specifically looking for people who have some of the skills needed to help stage a major event like this.”

Those interested are asked to attend the next festival meeting on January 10 from 7pm at the Bathgate Partnership Centre on South Bridge Street.
